enviornmental services, for cities and schools

sustainable solutions, envirosouce

Envirosource offers a wide range of environmental services for cities, schools, and industries. Our major focus is on:

Bringing green industrial parks (GIPs) to cities through partnerships with recycling industries: The products which can currently be produced through the GIP have been developed, used, and tested (qualitatively and quantitatively) on a bench scale basis by many corporations.

Education programs: There are federal and state acts which require recycling education programs for governmental agencies and public schools. An environmental education program that can be tailored to fit schools and cities nationwide is being developed through Alabama A&M University.

Seeking funding for sustainable solutions: There are many financial grants, credits, and bonds available for organizations that promote sustainable solutions (GIP, renewable energy use, use of products made from recycled materials, etc). Envirosource's pursuit of these financial mechanisms will include actively searching for applicable funding, gathering information to complete required applications, and submitting applications and supplemental information on behalf of the client.

Implementing additional sustainable solutions: Solutions can be implemented through companies that want to partner with the National Conference of Black Mayors and/or Envirosource in the "Greening Urban America" initiative.

Providing environmental services necessary to close landfills and provide post-closure maintenance: Closure services include placing an infiltration cover that is at least 18 inches thick, followed by an erosion layer, a final soil cover, and a vegetative layer. Certification for these and other necessary closure activities will be done by an engineer.

air quality,

Post-closure activities include correcting/preventing any erosion, ponding, and cracks on the surface area of closed landfill. It also includes the use and maintenance of monitoring devices and pollution control equipment.

Providing storm water sampling and testing: This service can be conducted for cities, construction projects, and post-development sites.

Assisting areas in states to reach attainment status for air quality: To be designated as being in “attainment” the air region must have pollutant concentrations that are below the National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS). The criteria pollutants are Carbon Monoxide (CO), Lead (Pb), Nitrogen Oxides (NOx), Ground-Level Ozone (O3), Particulate Matter (PM), and Sulfur Dioxide (SO2).
