Envirosource’s mission is to provide sustainable solutions to cities, schools, local governments and industries. For a solution to be truly sustainable, it must address the environmental, economic, and social factors of the concern. One of the first concerns addressed by Envirosource is the management of municipal solid waste (MSW).

Communities face many challenges in the management of solid wastes ---- landfills being filled to capacity, the unavailability of new landfills, the maintenance of closed landfills, testing of stormwater run-off, and governmental mandates regarding recycling goals.

Envirosource can design a Solid Waste Management Plan that is tailored to fit the specific needs of the community. This plan will include a recycling program that will exceed the governmental goal to recycle 35% of the MSW generated, an educational program to inform the citizens of the value of sustainability and the value of using methane gas naturally produced in the landfills for energy, and a newsletter/magazine to update citizens on the progress of plan implementation. Envirosource is also available to perform any needed environmental assessments or monitoring.

Envirosource saw an opportunity to work with innovative companies, like those who develop technologies that can recycle up to 95% of a municipality's MSW. The combination of Envirosource and true recycling industries provides a total solution for municipalities to solve the MSW/landfill crisis facing the entire country.

In December 2006, Envirosource introduced itself to the National Conference of Black Mayors (NCBM) by bringing the concept of the Green Industrial Park (GIP) as a means to bring environmental and economic empowerment to the communities. Subsequent to that meeting, Envirosource gained additional knowledge in the area of environmental justice.

The Environmental Justice Movement has documented numerous cases showing that past and present polluting industries are in areas where there are greater numbers of minorities or poor people. Executive Order 12898 instructs government agencies to address environment justice within their existing structures.

Although President Clinton signed this order in 1994, the USEPA inspector general's office determined that its agency had not fully implemented the order by 2004. EPA had also not identified the populations addressed in the order and had not defined or developed criteria for determining the disproportionately impacted population.

In March 2008, Envirosource brought the "Greening Urban America" initiative to the Executive Director of NCBM. The primary goal of this campaign is to use all of past studies, research, and eco-friendly applications to increase the knowledge and participation in issues of sovereignty, environmental rights, "green" technology and sustainability through eco-friendly legislature, industry and investments.
